Job summary

ByteDance in San Jose is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to data center MEP design, reviews, testing, and implementation of power and cooling systems for new builds and fit-outs. You will lead or influence design teams, coordinate with vendors and internal partners, and ensure solutions meet 2N/N+1 redundancy, cooling and uptime standards.

Strong communication is essential to explain complex infrastructure concepts to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations (TIA-942, ASHRAE).
• Understand power redundancy (2N or N+1) and cooling redundancy (N+1/N+2).
• Experience leading design teams for data center conceptual to detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Participate and review Data Center MEP design for new data center builds and fitouts.
• Participate in testing and commissioning discussions to verify design elements.
• Support DC Engineering FM team to become SME and manage design limitations and risks.
• Conduct periodic audits to assess design effectiveness in-use.
• Explain data center infrastructure design to visitors as an ambassador.
