Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Data Center Mechanical Engineer for its Americas region. You will participate in site selection, review MEP designs, and support data hall layouts and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of power and cooling designs and capacity calculations.
• Understanding of 2N or N+1 redundancy, ASHRAE standards, and data center design.
• Experience with data center MEP design and data hall fit-outs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in data center site selection and contractual evaluations.
• Review and design data center MEP systems and data hall layouts; validate server capacity and failover.
• Engage in testing and commissioning discussions to validate design elements.
• Support Facilities Management to address design limitations and risks.
• Conduct periodic audits of data center designs in-use and assess effectiveness.
• Explain data center infrastructure design to visitors and collaborate to improve MEP design for future needs.
• International travel up to 6 times per year; valid passport and visa eligibility.
