Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join our laboratory team. You will receive samples from outside clients and field personnel, inspect containers and temperatures, and log details into the LIMS system with precision.

You will also transport samples to proper storage and dispose of expired materials while adhering to SOPs and QA guidelines. The role requires good data entry, strong English communication, and the ability to multi-task within a team.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and able to interpret/transcribe information from client chain of custody.
• Good typing and data entry skills.
• Familiarity with chemical symbols and scientific terminology.
• Ability to communicate well in English, both verbal and written.
• Able to multi-task and work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of EPA methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples from outside clients and field personnel.
• Inspect containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc., for proper handling.
• Log samples accurately into the laboratory LIMS system.
• Transport samples to storage locations and dispose of expired samples.
• Follow SOPs, QA manual, and ALS Client Service Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
