Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Carle Place, NY seeks a Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I to support the laboratory manager and analysts. The role includes receiving, logging, and distributing samples, maintaining Chain of Custody, and generating client invoices and reports.

Full-time position with Tue-Sat 12:00 PM–8:30 PM; training Mon-Fri 10:00 AM–6:30 PM. Requires a High School diploma or GED, strong data-entry and MS Office skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in administration, data entry and customer service.
• Proficient in MS Office with strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples from in person customers and shipping carriers.
• Open packages; handle, count, sort environmental samples to ensure sample integrity.
• Review paperwork for all incoming samples for completeness and correctness.
• Enter Chain of Custody into LIMS for all lab divisions.
• Transfer samples by priority to appropriate custody locations.
• Generate invoices and reports for clients as needed.
• Assist with customer questions via in person, phone, and e-mail.
• Coordinate and perform sample-related activities including shipping and receiving.
