Job summary

ALS in Washington, DC is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) to work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

You will perform ringing, sieving, crushing, loading and unloading drying ovens, and maintain production logs while keeping the workspace clean and safe. The role requires good hand-eye coordination, strong organization, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic alpha/numeric comprehension.
• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assist with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc.;
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;
• Analytical quality
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with policies
• Other duties as assigned.
