Job summary

ALS is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support routine laboratory functions, including sample preparation and lab maintenance, working independently and in a team environment to provide quality service to clients.

You will sub-sample soils for moisture, metals, and organic parameters, enter data into the LIMS, clean glassware, store and archive samples, and assist with safety and compliance in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast-paced production/preparation environment.
• Knowledge from high school science courses and basic lab safety.
• Experience with chemicals or in a laboratory setting is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Sub-sampling soils for moisture, metals, and organic parameters.
• Entering factors and sample statuses into the LIMS.
• Glassware cleaning and labware maintenance.
• Sample storage and archiving; data archiving.
• Monitoring of controlled equipment; media or reagent preparation.
• Restocking of laboratory consumables/chemicals; general lab cleanup.
• Observe safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
