Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) in the Tucson area to work in the Sample Preparation Department. The role involves preparing client samples for analysis, performing sieving, crushing, loading ovens, and maintaining logs.

The position requires teamwork, careful handling of materials and adherence to safety policies. Ideal candidates have good hand-eye coordination, organization, and the ability to work independently or with a team, with basic English communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving, crushing and splitting samples under direct supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs.
• General cleaning duties for lab cleanliness.
• May assist with layout duties/tasks.
• Handling compositing and special handling requests, etc.
• Inspecting equipment and informing senior staff if adjustments are required.
• Ensure analytical quality and observe safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
