Job summary

ALS is seeking an analytical technician to independently weigh prepared pulp for geological sample analysis and to follow established procedures ensuring quality. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean lab, operating balances, reporting safety concerns, and assisting in training new employees.

The role requires basic English communication, ability to lift up to 20 lbs, and the capacity to work in a team or independently while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently weigh prepared pulp for analysis.
• Follow established procedures and schedules to ensure quality.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work environment and report safety concerns.
• Operate and maintain analytical balances per ALS procedures.
• Inspect pulp samples for homogeneity and report issues to supervisor.
• Record dispositions of client samples using Webview; transport as needed.
• Wash labware to prevent cross contamination and manage test tubes/racks.
• Dispose waste properly following lab procedures.
• Assist in training new employees and participate in safety/quality improvements.
• May assist in creating digestion run batches and other duties as assigned.
