Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a State & Local Tax Director focused on High Net Worth individuals, estates and trusts to join our SALT Residency practice in California. You’ll lead complex residency and multistate matters, working with the Private Wealth team to deliver strategic tax solutions.

You will develop client relationships, lead business development, and oversee quality and risk across significant engagements, while mentoring junior leaders in a national platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of professional experience.
• CPA, CMI or Law License/JD, LLM required.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead residency and state income tax matters for high net worth clients.
• Oversee residency, domicile, and multistate tax engagements with risk and quality control.
• Develop relationships with Private Wealth and expand client networks.
• Drive business development and sustain a strong pipeline.
• Mentor and develop Senior Managers and Managers in technical judgment.
