Baker Tilly US is seeking a State & Local Tax Director focused on High Net Worth residency and state income tax consulting to join and expand our SALT Residency practice in California.

You will lead complex residency matters, collaborate with Private Wealth leadership, oversee risk and quality, and develop senior professionals while originating opportunities and expanding client relationships to strengthen Baker Tilly's market presence.

Qualifications

• 12 years of professional experience.
• CPA, CMI or Law License/JD, LLM required.
• 4-year degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior strategic advisor to high net worth individuals and families on residency and state income tax matters.
• Lead the firm's most complex residency, domicile, and multistate individual income tax matters, including planning, audits, appeals and controversies.
• Provide executive-level quality and risk oversight for significant engagements and coordinate with Private Wealth leadership to deliver residency and state income tax services.
• Develop Senior Managers, Managers, and emerging leaders, guiding client relationships and market visibility.
