PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) delivers exceptional pet grooming and supports a high-performing team while upholding PetSmart’s values. The role develops bathers and new stylists through the grooming-development program and ensures top-tier pet care and customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership in salon operations, training, and promoting services, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with store policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with use of tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports development through training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather and/or stylist certification; identifies candidates for academy training.
• Delegate and verify completion of daily salon tasks; address associate complaints and grievances.
• Ensure pet parent experience across phone, in-person, and online interactions; respond to concerns and offer wellness solutions.
• Greet pet parents, recommend services, and drive rebooking and salon promotions.
• Use booking system and logs to manage reservations and calls; maintain salon standards and ethics.
• Perform full grooming menu and stand-alone services; promote salon sales; ensure cleanliness and humane pet handling.
