Sales Representative – Residential Remodeling & Construction

D&L Builders Inc. is looking for a motivated, professional, and results-driven Sales Representative to join our growing team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting homeowners, building relationships, understanding their vision, and closing high-value residential remodeling and construction projects.

You'll work primarily with company-generated leads — no cold calling required — and have the support of our estimating, project management, and operations teams throughout the sales process.

What You'll Do

• Meet with homeowners at scheduled, company-generated appointments.
• Conduct property walkthroughs and understand each client's project goals, priorities, timeline, and budget.
• Build strong relationships and establish trust with prospective clients.
• Present D&L Builders Inc., our process, and our value professionally.
• Work with our estimating and project management teams to develop proposals.
• Present proposals and guide homeowners through the decision-making process.
• Consistently follow up with leads and opportunities.
• Negotiate and close residential remodeling and construction projects.
• Maintain accurate lead, follow-up, and customer information in our CRM.
• Meet monthly and quarterly personal sales goals.
• Represent D&L Builders Inc. with professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service.

What We're Looking For

• Proven sales experience; construction, remodeling, home improvement, roofing, solar, HVAC, or other in-home sales experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Confident discussing budgets and closing high-value projects.
• Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
• Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Comfortable using CRM software, email, and basic computer applications.
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to appointments throughout San Diego County.

CompensationBase Salary

$45,000 per year

Uncapped Commission — Based on Personal Sales

Commission is calculated using progressive monthly sales tiers:

Monthly Personal SalesCommission

RateFirst $100,000 3%

$100,001–$200,000 4%

Sales above $200,000 5%

The higher commission rate applies only to the portion of monthly sales that falls within that tier.

Commission Example

If you personally sell $150,000 in one month:

• First $100,000 × 3% = $3,000
• Next $50,000 × 4% = $2,000
• Total monthly commission = $5,000
  

Commission Payment Terms

Commission is based on personal sales only and is earned after:

• The customer contract has been fully executed.
• The required initial deposit has been received.
• Any applicable cancellation or rescission period has expired.

If a contract is canceled before becoming an active project and the customer's deposit is refunded, commission will not be earned on that contract.

Commissions are calculated monthly and paid on the following applicable payroll cycle.
