Description

This role will be based remotely on the West Coast and will be expected to travel to customers and to the corporate office in Seattle, WA, up to 40%.

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100% USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Its global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries, serving customers in over 50 countries. The company employs approximately 9,000 people worldwide annually and partners with over 5,400 independent fishermen and crewmembers. Species harvested include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab from the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from trusted sources worldwide.

Trident is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Sales Manager to join the National Account/Multi-Unit team, reporting to the Sr. Director. The role involves driving revenue, profit, and volume growth, managing relationships with key national and regional chain restaurant accounts, and promoting the company's seafood portfolio, especially Wild Alaska Seafood and value-added products. The Sales Manager will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, build long-term partnerships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals. The account coverage will be the middle to western U.S.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and develop customer strategies aligned with the National Account Foodservice market business strategy to support profitable sales.
  • Deliver effective selling presentations based on approved customer plans.
  • Pursue new customer opportunities within the Foodservice market.
  • Enhance customer performance through negotiation, marketing, and sales initiatives.
  • Manage customer margins and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams including customer service, finance, supply chain, R&D, operations, and marketing.
  • Use management tools (dashboards, Power BI) to analyze business drivers and improve results.
  • Create customer business plans for restaurant chains and large group partners.
  • Manage end-to-end customer relationships, including setup, finance, supply chain, development, and marketing.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annual salary of $95,000 to $135,000. Trident offers a comprehensive benefits package, including performance incentives, health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, and parental leave.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional sales experience, preferably in chain business, seafood, or Center of the Plate proteins.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with national restaurant chains or large foodservice customers.
  • Based in the Pacific or Mountain time zone with ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Proven track record of growth and exceeding customer plans.
  • Strong sales planning and P&L management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with Product Portfolio Channels.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling to chain restaurants or large groups, with knowledge of channel dynamics.
  • Excellent storyteller and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Seafood industry knowledge, including Alaska fisheries.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of key functions like Sales, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, and Global Accounts.

Work Environment

Office setting with travel across North America up to 40%. Physical demands include sitting, occasional movement of objects up to 25 pounds, and long periods at a computer.
