Description

The Sales Manager (Corporate) is responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition, development, and management of corporate group business, including but not limited to corporate retreats, conferences, board meetings, social events, affinity groups, ski clubs and wholesale clients. This role owns the full sales lifecycle—from prospecting and relationship development through contracting and seamless handoff to event execution—ensuring a high-quality, frictionless client experience aligned with the Taos Ski Valley brand.

This position requires a strategic seller who can generate new demand, manage a robust pipeline, and convert high-value opportunities while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively source and secure new group business across key segments
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to meet or exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue high-value opportunities that align with resort positioning and capacity.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to align group pricing, inventory strategy, and availability, ensuring optimal revenue performance and strategic account selection.
  • Track and report on sales performance against goals, using data to inform strategy and drive results, while managing budgets to ensure efficient and profitable revenue growth
  • Develop and execute the annual corporate group sales plan, including segment goals, account priorities, market deployment, and budget inputs. Maintain accurate weekly and monthly forecasts, identify pace and conversion gaps, and implement action plans to achieve room, catering, and ancillary revenue targets.
  • Evaluate account production, profitability, booking patterns, and total resort spend to prioritize high-value accounts, support displacement decisions, and determine appropriate renewal, retention, or corrective strategies.
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective, contracted, and repeat business clients.
  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships that drive conversion and repeat business.
  • Delivering compelling site tours and presentations that showcase the full resort experience.
  • Create and maintain strategic account plans for key corporate and group clients, including production goals, stakeholder maps, retention strategies, and opportunities to expand business across need periods, seasons, and resort offerings.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up with clients and internal teams to review outcomes, resolve concerns, capture feedback, and secure repeat or future business while the relationship is active.
Sales Process & Contracting
  • Lead the sales process from inquiry through contract execution.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and concessions in alignment with revenue goals and guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely proposals, contracts, and follow-up communication.
  • Maintain complete and accurate CRM records, including account profiles, activities, opportunities, contracts, lost-business reasons, and next steps. Monitor lead response times, pipeline hygiene, and follow-up standards to support reliable forecasting and consistent client service.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Private Events Manager and resort-wide cross-functional teams for seamless event handoff and execution
  • Align with marketing on lead generation strategies and campaigns.
  • Communicate client needs clearly to ensure delivery meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Provide insights to inform pricing, packaging, and sales strategy.
  • Contribute to ongoing refinement of group sales approach and segmentation focus.
  • Represent the resort at trade shows, industry events, client appointments, familiarization trips, and targeted sales missions. Plan pre-event outreach and post-event follow-up, and measure resulting leads, opportunities, and revenue contribution.
Personal Skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage clients, understand needs, and deliver a high-touch experience.
  • Highly competitive and results-driven, with a strong desire to exceed goals and win business.
