Job summary

A leading automotive aftermarket distribution firm is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a remote sales team in the Denver to Salt Lake City corridor. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of sales management experience, preferably in automotive distribution. Responsibilities include forecasting sales, mentoring team members, and driving growth across the region. Frequent travel (approximately 50%) is expected for customer and vendor visits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in sales management.
  • Experience overseeing outside sales managers is required.
  • Sales management experience in distribution and automotive is highly desired.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products; valid driver’s license.

Overview

This is a remote position based in the Denver to Salt Lake City corridor.

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading an efficient and results driven sales region defined by the complexity of the market and revenue ownership. This includes forecasting sales results, coaching and mentoring field sales representatives, and executing overall sales initiatives throughout the region for an automotive aftermarket distribution business. The Sales Manager serves as the region’s point of contact between the field and the national sales leader.

Responsibilities
  • Assist market account and account executives with field resource deployment, account strategies, and territory planning
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing sales for each individual they manage; project expected volume and profit
  • Build, develop, and manage sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives
  • Coach and mentor field representatives throughout region
  • Participate in the recruiting and onboarding process of sales representatives
  • Implement systemic sales process structure
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is directly responsible for leading 15-20 district sales representatives in the region.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in sales management, with experience overseeing outside sales managers. Sales management experience with a distribution and automotive background is highly desired.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle report (insurable)
