Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Assistant Sales Department Manager to lead a team on the floor, drive sales, and deliver an exceptional customer experience through directive selling and coaching.

You will recruit, train and motivate your team, work with the department manager to meet sales and inventory goals, and ensure outstanding service and presentation standards while building lasting customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Track record of successful results, e.g. strong productivity.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence in a commission-based environment.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department/store managers and other leaders.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate your team – their success is your success
• Assist the department manager in achieving department goals by developing and executing a business plan
• Ensure salespeople deliver outstanding customer service by coaching and leading by example
• Work with the department manager to ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Build long-lasting relationships and create a loyal customer following by actively selling on the floor
• Assist in inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
