Nordstrom, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Assistant Sales Department Manager who leads with directive selling, sets and drives sales goals, and is dedicated to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will recruit and develop a high-performing team, partner with the department manager on business planning, coach staff on service standards, and ensure accurate inventory and merchandising on the floor.

Qualifications

• Ambition to grow as a leader and pursue future opportunities as a Department Manager.
• Track record of successful results, e.g. strong productivity and personal trade.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.

• High school diploma, or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate your team.
• Assist the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan.
• Ensure salespeople deliver outstanding customer service by teaching, coaching and leading by example.
• Work with the department manager to ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met.
• Build long lasting relationships and create a loyal customer following by actively selling on the floor.
• Assist the department manager in ensuring accurate inventory management and shrinkage goals.
