Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Sales Department Manager who excels in directive selling, leads by example, and drives sales while delivering exceptional customer experiences on the floor.

This role collaborates with the department manager to hit volume and productivity targets and to maintain visual merchandising standards. You will recruit, train, and coach a team, foster relationships with store leaders, and ensure accurate inventory and shrinkage control.

Qualifications

• A track record of successful results, e.g., strong productivity.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence for commission-based work.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
• Experience developing relationships with department/store managers and leaders.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate your team – their success is your success
• Assist the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan
• Ensure salespeople deliver outstanding customer service by teaching, coaching and leading by example
• Work with the department manager to ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Build long lasting relationships and create a loyal customer following by actively selling on the floor
• Assist the department manager in ensuring accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals
