Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Sales Engineer in Albuquerque to evaluate customer requirements and develop accurate technical and commercial quotations. You will serve as the primary technical resource throughout the quotation process, aligning customer needs with manufacturing capabilities and business objectives.

This role requires reviewing drawings, BOMs, and specifications, developing cost estimates, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure complete, accurate quotes and smooth handoffs to NPI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of engineering, applications engineering, or technical quoting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience supporting engineered-to-order manufacturing and interpreting drawings/GD&T.
• Experience in precision manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations in response to RFQs and inquiries.
• Review drawings, BOMs, and specifications to determine quotation needs and manufacturability.
• Develop manufacturing assumptions, labor standards, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather required data for quotes.
• Serve as the primary technical resource during the quotation process.
• Identify risks that may impact cost, lead time, or execution of customer requirements.
• Support NPI handoffs and updates to quotation documentation.
• Monitor quote turnaround metrics and drive process improvements.
