Job summary

Dexian is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer / Estimator in Santa Fe Springs, CA to support the sales and estimating process for custom industrial equipment. The role focuses on evaluating customer requirements, reviewing drawings, preparing accurate estimates, and developing competitive proposals.

The candidate will collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Project Management to deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in custom manufacturing or industrial equipment.
Experience estimating process equipment, tanks, piping, skids, or fabricated equipment.
Strong interpretation of blueprints and engineering drawings.
Experience creating BOMs and labor estimates.
Knowledge of fabrication methods (welding, machining, fitting, assembly).
Experience reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotations.
Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Review RFQs, engineering drawings, and technical specs.
Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, components, and subcontracted work.
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and project cost breakdowns.
Generate quotations and proposals for custom industrial equipment.
Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Project Management.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Clarify scope with customers and manage timelines for estimates.
Support project transition from awarded contracts to execution teams.
Build long-term customer relationships through technical support.
