The Sales Engineer is a high-impact, customer-facing role that serves as the main link between the Leybold factory and the client. Responsible for driving sales, this role educates key stakeholders on vacuum technology advancements and best practices. Focused primarily on the Scientific market, the Sales Engineer manages and grows business within a defined territory, identifying opportunities with both new and existing customers. The role also coordinates account activities across internal departments to ensure full customer satisfaction.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; relevant experience in technical roles sales may substitute. Minimum five years working with technical products or services, ideally vacuum equipment.
Customer-facing experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts. Skilled in active listening, solution development, and collaboration. Proficient in Microsoft Office; Power BI and SAP are a plus.
Self-motivated, curious, and results-driven. Able to work independently from a home office. Familiarity with mechanical, vacuum, or fluid systems is a plus. Valid driver’s license required.
This remote role involves frequent travel—about 50%—including overnight and multi-day domestic and international trips. The employee may be exposed to mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, fumes, and occasional risks like electrical shock, vibration, and loud noise.
Regular sitting, standing, walking, stair climbing, and verbal communication. Occasional tasks include typing, dialing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. Frequent computer use and visual acuity—including close, color, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment—are essential.
