Job description

Haydon Kerk Pittman (HKP) is a combination of three world-class AMETEK brands that supply advanced linear and rotary motion solutions to a diverse mix of global customers. HKP is recognized as a leading manufacturer of custom linear and rotary motion solutions for precision automation. Our goal is to empower our customers to realize their vision.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to cover the New England region of our North America territory. This role plans, manages, and coordinates activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of HKP. This role facilitates the development of new market strategies including discovering new product platform profiles, finding new business opportunities, maintaining existing accounts, and advising/guiding the business in the most effective use of resources for the purpose of serving our customers and meeting the territory's growth goals.

What you will do:

  • Develop and deliver growth strategies for your region
  • Identify adjacent product, application, and market/product growth opportunities
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and profit targets
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders (ex. Operations, Product Managers, Engineering, Inside Sales & Customer Service) to achieve targets
  • Collaborate with advertising and market implementation plans to drive
    • Lead generation, qualification, and follow-up
    • Trade show participation
  • Create and maintain relationships with customers
    • Travel to visit current and new customers frequently
    • Position HKP as a differentiated technical leader
    • Understand the nature and application of our products
    • Follow up on leads
    • Be aware of customer "pain points" and collaborate with internal parties to provide solutions and reinforce account loyalty

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least3 years of direct technical sales experience required
  • Must currently reside in the territory to be covered
  • Experience and/or knowledge of linear and rotary motion aplus
  • Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong bias for action
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Must be able to work well within a team and independently
