Job summary

Soda is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Brooklyn HQ and work in-person with the CEO, CMO, and the GTM team. You will handle enterprise deals with highly technical buyers, running demos, scoping PoCs, and owning the technical side of deals.

You’ll collaborate with AEs and the CRO on enterprise accounts, build custom demos, respond to RFPs/RFIs, and help customers through evaluation, purchasing, and implementation. This is a hands-on startup role with room to grow.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role at a B2B SaaS company
• Undergraduate degree (or higher) in a technical field—Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or similar
• Fluent in Python—read, write, and debug it in front of a customer
• Experience running demos and supporting PoCs in customer environments
• Clear, calm, and honest customer communication across technical and executive audiences
• Builder mentality with a focus on process improvement and automation
• High horsepower and ruthless prioritization to manage multiple projects
• Humble attitude with eagerness to help others and learn continuously
• Based in NYC or willing to relocate

Responsibilities

• Run demos and scope PoCs alongside AEs from first technical call through to closed‑won
• Translate customer problems into Soda solutions and Soda capabilities into customer language
• Build custom demos, sample pipelines, and PoC environments that show real value
• Own product, technical, and security responses on RFPs and RFIs
• Support customers through evaluation, purchasing, and implementation
• Be the technical voice in the room with Data Engineers, Heads of Data Platform, and CDOs
• Provide market feedback to product and engineering about winning/losing signals
• Travel occasionally to customer sites, team offsites, and conferences
• Wear multiple hats in a startup and touch every stage of the sales cycle
