This high-impact position involves working with applications engineers to design and recommend Leybold equipment that enhances industrial process efficiencies. You will act as the primary customer-facing liaison, educating companies about vacuum technology advancements to upgrade their production processes.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Balance time between remote work and on-site visits at advanced factories, teaching engineers and management about vacuum technology.
  2. Promote company products by designing and proposing equipment upgrade solutions within an assigned geographic region, focusing on markets such as metallurgy, architectural glass, energy, food technology, automotive, and more.
  3. Develop and execute a vision to expand business within your region, including current clients and new opportunities.
  4. Provide outstanding technical support and product selection assistance to customers.
  5. Attend trade shows, seminars, and training to stay informed on industry trends and competitive products.
  6. Maintain company property and equipment, including a company car, demo products, and stock.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor conditions; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and noise.
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, and use stairs; occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds regularly; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • This role is 100% remote with frequent travel (~50%), including overnight stays.

Skills, Knowledge, and Education
  • Engineering/science degree or equivalent experience in engineering
  • Experience in customer-facing roles
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Problem-solving skills to create custom solutions
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Other Requirements
  • High energy, curiosity, and commitment
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Mechanical, vacuum, or fluid systems knowledge a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required

Compensation

Starting salary varies by location: Indiana/Michigan range: $52,822 - $82,240; Illinois range: $77,280 - $115,920. Compensation depends on qualifications.
