Job summary

Abacus is seeking a full-time Sales Engineer in Chicago, operating in a hybrid environment to drive technical wins with clients.

You will support POC development, sandbox builds, and integration testing, while troubleshooting deployment and integration issues in customer environments and reading system logs. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams to ensure smooth implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, information systems, or equivalent.
• 3–10 years in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, IT support, data management, or technical consulting).
• Familiar with Python, C++, C#, and JavaScript.
• Able to support POC, sandbox builds, and integration testing.
• Able to troubleshoot deployment and integration issues in customer environments.
• Familiar with SDLC and software concepts.
• Experience presenting live demos.
• Working knowledge of LLMs and RAG-based AI systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple client and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented, problem-solver, quick learner; eager to learn Abacus code stack.
• Familiarity with on-premise or air-gapped deployment is a strong plus.

• Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent project experience
• 3-10 years of experience in a technical role, such as software engineering, IT support, data management, or technical consulting
• Familiarity with Python, C++, C#, and JavaScript, with proficiency in one or more of these programming languages
• Able to support Proof of Concept (POC), sandbox builds, and integration testing
• Able to troubleshoot deployment and integration issues in a customer environment, including reading system logs, identifying configuration errors, and diagnosing and resolving incidents
• Familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle methodology (SDLC) and software concepts
• Experienced at presenting live demos
• Working knowledge of LLMs and RAG-based AI systems
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple client and internal teams
• Detail-oriented, problem-solver and quick learner, with desire to learn the Go Abacus code stack
• Familiarity with on-premise or air-gapped infrastructure deployment a strong plus
