Role Summary

The Supplemental Health G&E National Sales Director (NSD) will be responsible for driving new business sales for Supplemental Health products within the Government and Education sectors in National Accounts (employers with 3,000+ eligible). This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of Government and Education clients.

Key Areas Of Expertise Include
  • Product solutions: Accidental Injury (AI), Critical Illness (CI), and Hospital Care (HC) products, including corresponding pricing and UW strategies
  • Enrollment solutions: Internal capabilities and external options
  • Administrative solutions: Billing and claim processes
Job Responsibilities

The NSD role is responsible for proactive and consultative outreach designed to increase the institutional knowledge of Cigna Supplemental Health Solutions in the large case segment for Government & Education clients. The NSD partners with internal colleagues in distribution, marketing, product, compliance, underwriting, and other areas to deliver compelling and valuable solutions to clients and broker partners. The NSD also manages relationships with external partners, including brokers, consultants, and enrollment firms.

More Specifically, The NSD Role Will
  • Drive Distribution Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to grow product sales within G&E sectors in National Accounts, focusing on clients over 3000 lives. Present Cigna's offerings, negotiate with underwriting, conduct seminars, and produce sales reports.
  • Partner with Cigna Healthcare Team: Collaborate to uncover cross-sell opportunities and educate clients and brokers about Cigna’s offerings to increase market penetration.
  • Collaboration with matrix partners: Liaise with internal teams to enhance competitiveness, gather market feedback, and support strategy execution in G&E.
  • Goal Attainment: Achieve assigned sales goals for Supplemental Health products.
Incentive Compensation

The role is eligible for incentive pay based on sales goals, internal expectations, territory management, and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proven track record of delivering business results
  • Strong analytical, strategic, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience with large national accounts and government procurement preferred
  • Familiarity with trends and innovations in Supplemental Health
