Sales Director – Island Way Sorbet

Island Way Sorbet is an exciting startup in the Frozen Novelty space with a mission to bring indulgent, all-natural, and refreshingly delicious sorbet to freezers across the country. Our products are served in real fruit shells and offer a tropical twist that resonates with health-conscious consumers and dessert lovers alike. We're rapidly expanding in the U.S. market and are looking for passionate, experienced, and entrepreneurial talent to join our growing team.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a high-performing Sales Director with a proven track record in Conventional Grocery to help drive our next phase of growth. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Sales and work collaboratively to develop and execute sales strategies across key national and regional grocery accounts. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in the Central and Western US regions, be comfortable using syndicated data (IRI, SPINS, Nielsen), and excel at both broker and account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth in Conventional and Natural Grocery accounts across assigned territories, with a focus on the Central and Western U.S.
  • Manage, develop, and optimize relationships with key retail buyers, brokers, and distributors.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Sales to build and maintain annual business plans and promotional calendars.
  • Analyze syndicated data (SPINS, IRI, Nielsen) to identify trends, opportunities, and risks to inform sales and marketing strategy.
  • Lead contract negotiations, new item presentations, promotional planning, and trade spend optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment of goals and execution.
  • Deliver weekly/monthly reporting on account performance, promotional effectiveness, and pipeline tracking.
  • Provide clear direction, support, and accountability to broker partners to maximize performance.
  • Attend key trade shows and customer meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience directly calling on Conventional and Natural Grocery Customers.
  • Demonstrated success managing accounts in the Central and Western U.S. territories.
  • Proficiency in using syndicated data sources such as IRI, SPINS, or Nielsen to drive strategy.
  • Strong broker management and account management skills are a must.
  • Proven negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
