SALES BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Salary for the Inside Sales Engineer position: TOTAL COMPENSATION: $100,000 - $125,000

($85,000 - 100,000) base salary + OTE ($15,000 - $25,000) commissions, with no cap.

Vergent Products is seeking a full-time Sales Business Development Representative responsible for identifying and closing client opportunities in target markets such as medical device (ISO13485), aerospace (AS9100D), and high-performance industrial (ISO9001) applications. The ideal candidate has experience as a Sales Rep in the electronics market with an existing OEM client base in these markets.

Position is open to remote candidates based in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify target clients within the current client base that fit our high-quality electronic design and manufacturing services
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, industry influencers, and stakeholders to increase market presence and generate repeat business
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company, expand networks, and generate leads
  • Identify specific projects and track them via the Opportunity Pipeline funnel process
  • Make presentations and use selling tools to showcase Vergent’s services
  • Capture client and project requirements for proposal development
  • Receive RFQs from clients and coordinate with Quote Engineers for proposal creation
  • Review, refine, and present proposals to clients, capturing feedback and refining as needed to close projects
  • Work with the VP of Business Development to hand off closed projects to the Project Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong selling skills to articulate Vergent’s Unique Selling Points and Value Proposition
  • Tenacity to drive opportunities through the sales funnel to closure
  • Ability to handle objections and clearly articulate client needs to internal teams
  • Understanding of electronics applications, PCBA, and product specifications
  • Knowledge of the competitive environment
  • Market or customer requirement knowledge in medical device, aerospace, defense, or industrial applications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
