Job summary

Wanzl North America in Newton, NC seeks a Sales Application Engineer to refine ETO product scopes and act as a SME for applicable products. You will bridge the gap between sales and product teams, delivering technical support, demonstrations, and customer-focused solutions.

The SAE collaborates with Sales, Product Managers, and Manufacturing, gathering customer requirements and developing proposals. Travel up to 35% is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Sales Application Engineering role, preferably within retail solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal teams and explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in technical documentation and proposal writing.
• Ability to travel up to 35% including occasional international travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to the sales team, enabling them to effectively communicate product capabilities and benefits to customers.
• Support the sales team throughout the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert during customer interactions, providing detailed explanations and insights into our products and solutions, including demonstrations.
• Assist in development and presentation of technical proposals and solutions to customers, ensuring alignment with their needs and capabilities.
• Act as a liaison between the Sales team, Product Managers, D&D, and Manufacturing for effective communication and collaboration.
• Participate in customer meetings, site visits, pre-install surveys, and presentations to gather requirements.
• Assist in development and review of technical documentation, including product specifications, drawings, and proposals.
• Develop CAD drawings for use in proposals, permit submissions, and internal project pricing.
• Stay updated on market needs, industry trends, and competitor products to provide insights.
• Attend trade shows and industry events to promote offerings.
• Provide technical training and support to the sales team.
