Job summary

Daikin Applied seeks a Sales Applications Engineer to provide technical design support for commercial air handlers and HVAC systems. The role involves fast-paced project management, cross-functional collaboration with sales and engineering, and influencing product positioning in the market.

The position is based in Southern California, onsite in the San Diego office once a week with travel to manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico, and customer visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience; high school diploma required.
• 2+ years’ related experience, 4+ years’ experience in commercial HVAC strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; experience with HVAC component selections (coils, fans, heat exchangers).
• Experience reading blueprints and technical documents; ability to interpret prints and drawings.
• Independent analysis and judgment to resolve non-standard problems.
• Preferred bilingual English/Spanish.

• Analyze and propose modifications to meet customer requirements.

Location:

Your Responsibilities:

• 2+ years’ related experience, 4+ years’ experience in commercial HVAC strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Experience with HVAC component selections (coils, fans, heat exchangers).
• Experienced in blueprint and technical document review with ability to understand and read technical details from prints, drawings, and other documents.
• Independent analysis and judgment skills, using prior experience and knowledge to resolve non-standard problems.
• Preferred bilingual English/Spanish.

The typical salary for this position ranges from $82,000 - $145,000 in San Diego. The range displayed represents the pay range for positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
