Job summary

Alliance Air Products, a Daikin Applied division, is seeking a Sales Applications Engineer to support custom Commercial Air Handlers in a fast-paced, high-volume setting in San Diego. The role involves designing HVAC solutions, pricing, and training sales teams to position products effectively.

The position requires a engineering degree (or equivalent), 2+ years in HVAC, proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office, and preferred bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years' related experience, 4+ years' experience in commercial HVAC strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience with HVAC component selections and reading prints/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, accurate support to sales inquiries regarding special applications, systems, or pricing.
• Analyze and propose modifications to current products and services to meet customer requirements.
• Communicate with customers to evaluate and understand their needs.
• Assess processes to meet those needs.
• Process modification requests not covered by published pricing.
• Keep informed on new products and competitive models.
• Prepare technical literature for internal and field application.
• Conduct product training to sales representatives and customers.
• Provide leadership within sales and engineering organization.

This is a fast paced, high volume role managing multiple projects simultaneously with tight timelines.

This role will provide technical expertise including design on commercial HVAC products to the sales teams and customers. Location: Southern California, onsite in the San Diego office once a week with some travel to the manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico and customer visits.

Your Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years' related experience, 4+ years' experience in commercial HVAC strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience with HVAC component selections (coils, fans, heat exchangers).
• Experienced in blueprint and technical document review with ability to understand and read technical details from prints, drawings, and other documents.
• Independent analysis and judgment skills, using prior experience and knowledge to resolve non-standard problems.
• Preferred bilingual English/Spanish.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The typical salary for this position ranges from $82,000 - $145,000 in San Diego. The range displayed represents the pay range for positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
