Job summary

Gaslamp Insurance Services in Carlsbad, CA is hiring for a high-velocity telesales role focused on inbound/outbound coverage inquiries. You will qualify needs, quote, and close sales while expanding lines of business with top carriers.

Requires CA P&C license, on-site work for the first year, and the flexibility to move to hybrid later based on quota. English and Spanish bilinguals are a plus; compensation includes hourly pay and bonus components.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven telesales or commercial insurance sales experience.
• P&C insurance license for California required with proof on request.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Willing to work onsite in Carlsbad, CA for the first year; hybrid later possible.

Responsibilities

• Handle 15-30+ inbound calls and 50+ outbound calls daily to prospects/customers seeking coverage and servicing their policies.
• Assess P&C insurance needs and recommend suitable products from our carrier portfolio.
• Provide fast, accurate quotes over the phone using our online application system.
• Close sales by following a sales script and overcoming objections.
• Promote additional lines of business within an account.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and customers.
• Keep activity records in AMS/CRM and collaborate with team to hit targets.
• Adapt to evolving technology and improved workflows.

Position Responsibilities:

• Handle 15-30+ inbound calls and 50+ outbound calls with voicemail a day to and from prospects/customers who are seeking coverage, managing their policy, or requiring service assistance.
• Assess the P&C insurance needs such as general liability, workers comp or business auto and excess policies of each prospect and customer and recommend suitable products and services from our portfolio of carriers and markets.
• Provide fast and accurate quotes over the phone for prospects and customers using our online application system and tools.
• Close sales by following a sales script and process, by persuading prospects and customers to buy our products and services and by overcoming any objections or concerns they may have.
• Promote additional lines of business within an account.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with prospects and customers by providing excellent service and follow-up throughout the sales process and beyond.
• Keep track of your sales activities and results using our customer database, AMS (Agency Management Systems), and ensure that all information and documentation are complete and accurate.
• Collaborate with other sales agents, customer service representatives, underwriters, and managers to achieve team and company goals.
• Adapt to new and evolving technology as we improve our processes and workflows.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a telesales representative or other sales role in the insurance industry, or commercial insurance sales experience
• P&C insurance license for California required with ability to provide proof of licensing upon request.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Willing to work onsite in our Carlsbad office Monday-Friday for the first year, ability to go hybrid after pending quota performance

This role offers a bonus component on top of the hourly rate which will be in the range of $45K/yr to $125K/yr Salary + Bonus + General Equity Plan. Your Talent Acquisition representative can share more details with you about the compensation structure.

The starting hourly pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

National Pay Range: $22 USD - $25 USD
