Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic outside sales representative for the New England area with a proven track record of increasing sales and exceeding targets. The role involves selling a wide range of chemicals, laboratory products, and custom solutions across various industries, including Laboratory, Industrial, Pharma, Biotech, Cosmetics/Personal Care, and Med Device. This is a field-based role requiring weekly face-to-face customer visits, documented in CRM, with additional virtual meetings via phone and TEAMS.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Territory Management: Conduct 12-15 in-person meetings weekly within the territory, with documentation and mileage tracking.
  2. Customer Engagement: Understand customer needs and promote Spectrum’s product portfolio to grow sales across all channels.
  3. Sales Growth: Develop new business and support existing accounts, collaborating with the distribution team.
  4. Meetings & Events: Facilitate distributor meetings and attend trade shows regularly.
  5. CRM Usage: Maintain accurate data entry to support sales pipelines and leadership decision-making.
  6. Internal Processes: Learn and adhere to Spectrum’s internal procedures.
  7. Customer Visits: Coordinate quarterly visits with management.
  8. Marketing Support: Provide customers with marketing materials and stay informed about new products.
  9. Team Collaboration: Work closely with sales and marketing teams, acting as a self-starter and team player.
  10. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or life sciences, or at least 5 years of direct sales experience in the lab chemical industry.
  2. Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience, with 2 years in chemical sales; experience in med-device or scientific products is a plus.
  3. Willingness and ability to travel weekly within the territory.
  4. Experience with cGMP, ISO, and change control processes is advantageous.
  5. Ability to develop account strategies from R&D to QC.
  6. Physical ability to lift/carry 25-40 lbs.
