Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Salaried Sous Chef for Northeastern University in Boston, MA. You will support culinary operations for student dining, supervise and assist in preparation and cooking, and help develop daily menus with garnishes.

You may supervise hourly staff and collaborate with Executive Chefs to create menus and assist with ordering. With Chartwells' growth, there is strong potential for professional advancement and an immediate impact on campus dining.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• Culinary/kitchen management experience in high-volume operations.
• High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, presentation.
• Experienced with computers.
• ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with managing cost controls and expenditures.
• Assist in planning and creating menus.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams.
• Foster strong client relationships to align programs with objectives, driving satisfaction and retention.
• Perform other duties to support the efficient functioning of dining service operations.
