Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Sous Chef for Northeastern University, Oakland, CA. The role supports the Culinary Department, assisting in supervision, preparation and garnishment of food items, and developing daily menus with the Chef.

You will supervise hourly associates, work with the Executive Chef on menu development and ordering. A dynamic, energetic culinary professional is wanted for this opportunity.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent education in culinary arts.
• Experience in culinary/kitchen management preferred.
• High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef with cost controls and expenditures.
• Assist with planning and creating menus.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary team.
