Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to lead the Culinary Department for a facility in Needham. You will supervise staff, support menu development, and ensure quality, sanitation, and cost controls, coordinating with the Executive Chef on new menus and ordering.

This energetic role offers a $75,000 - $80,000 salary and comprehensive benefits; ideal candidates have an A.S. or equivalent, catering and high-volume experience, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience required in culinary field.
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience preferred.
• Catering experience a plus.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
• Computer literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Email and Internet.
• Willing to participate in client satisfaction programs.
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account.
• Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
• Produces and executes catering events.
• Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team.
