Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with required experience in occupational health and safety or risk programs.
• Three years (Bachelor’s) or five years (Associate’s) of safety experience in public or private sectors.
• Knowledge of safe vehicle and equipment operations; ergonomic awareness.
• Ability to design and implement risk reduction programs; strong written and verbal communication.
• Driver’s license with clean history; defensive driving certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs across Augusta-Richmond County departments.
• Identify hazards, conduct inspections, and write corrective recommendations.
• Train employees on proper PPE use and safe work practices.
• Investigate injuries and recommend PPE or control measures to reduce risk.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety policies.
• Oversee vehicle safety and ergonomic assessments; support risk management.
