Job description

Summary: The Safety Technology Analyst is responsible for the development, automation, training and administrative operation of all ATS programs and processes supporting Safety initiatives, such as the Intervention-Retention-program (IRP), optimizing efficiency through data-driven insights and technological solutions. The Safety Technology Analyst plays a pivotal role in educating and empowering teams to effectively utilize safety/accident/operational program data and tools, with a strong focus on programming and data analysis. This position involves teaching others how to interpret created Safety and Operational data spreadsheets, recognizing potential risks for ATS, and ensuring program trends align with performance goals.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in math or data analytics.
  2. Must have advanced computer software skills to formulate and analytically evaluate large volumes of data.
  3. Proficient knowledge, quick learning, proper commercial driving techniques, and regulatory safety compliance requirements.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of staff and suppliers/contractors. Able to relate effectively to diverse cultures.
  6. Strong teaching/presentation skills; able to articulate expectations and engage in active listening.
  7. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  8. Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.
  9. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  10. Excellent communication skills (written, listening, and verbal).
  11. Must be able to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality of work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop advanced spreadsheets incorporating formulas, macros, pivot tables, and data visualization tools for ATS and its affiliates.
  2. Collect and aggregate data from various internal and external sources, including databases, API's, and spreadsheets to develop and maintain large scale automated spreadsheets using excel, or other data management tools. Use the data to generate automated task lists based on data insights and workflow needs.
  3. Train and support end-users on effective spreadsheet use, including data entry, reporting, and analysis techniques.
  4. Monitor data integrity, troubleshoot discrepancies, and refine automation process as needed.
  5. Prepare and vet daily and weekly reporting on program effectiveness, process, and quality.
  6. Participate in the development and design of the Lytx dash cam program process and implementation.
  7. Analyze Lytx program data to validate program quality, effectiveness, and sustainability as well as camera operational performance.
  8. Establish a relationship with Lytx, high-level, technical support to troubleshoot and resolve program and device issues.
  9. Establish a rapport with the ATS and Affiliate Maintenance shops to determine the most cost-effective and quickest method to repair camera issues.
  10. Organize and structure data in a user- friendly format for easy analysis and reporting.
  11. Serve as the subject matter expert on speed control alerts, dash cam triggers, and event reporting, including accident mitigation technology and critical event tracking.
  12. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish best practices for device support and safety initiatives.
  13. Develop automated processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of current and future Lytx safety programs.
  14. Establish and monitor the device health program, ensuring functionality of 1,500+ cameras across the ATS fleet, with weekly audits and reports. Modify the programing of the report to function with each of the individual affiliate companies.
  15. Perform daily monitoring of behavior reports, focusing on identifying safety events for escalation
  16. Provide product and program validation to support vendor performance.
  17. Analyze program data to validate program quality, effectiveness, and sustainability as well as camera operational performance.
  18. Monitor and maintain the Lytx camera device health of the Fleet. This includes discovering inoperative cameras, scheduling repairs, creating suspensions, and reporting on results.
  19. Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance requirements via monitoring of Dash Cam videos. The position focuses efforts on safety and compliance to keep driver behaviors and liability exposures under established company goals.
  20. Align decisions, behaviors, and performance with ATS' values and competencies.
  21. Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed and infrequent travel may be required.
  22. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000to $80,000.Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
