Position Summary
DMA’s Managed Tax Services group collaborates with a wide array of DMA Consulting, Tax & IT teams to help our clients improve operational efficiencies, leverage new or existing technologies, and drive positive business outcomes. We assist our clients by providing indirect tax services focusing on continuous improvement of their transaction tax operations, systems, and processes. With the increasing complexity of tax regulations, the need for efficient tax management solutions has grown, leading to the emergence and necessity of tax technology managed services.
In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our Managed Tax Services, engaging in activities such as:
Exemption Certificate Management
Tax Engine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Tax Systems & Integration Management
Tax Data Automation & Reporting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client-Centric Approach - Work closely with customers to understand their needs, promote customer satisfaction, retention, and success.
Client Request Handling - Monitor, analyze, resolve, report, and document inbound client requests.
Client Communication - Ensure clients are provided high-quality and timely communications on all service components and deliverables.
Data Transformation Workflow Processing & Maintenance - Process and troubleshoot customer workflows using data transformation tools.
Document Maintenance - Create, update, and enhance high-detail Standard Operating Procedures.
Exemption Certificate Support - Validate, configure, collect, and test inbound exemption certificates in all major exemption certificate management solutions.
Process & Impact Analysis - Review and analyze business process inputs, document variables and constraints, define the prospective outcomes, and recommend solutions.
Routine Task Execution - Ensure time-bound tasks are completed punctually and accurately.
System Monitoring and Process Support - Provide break/fix resolution and ongoing tax solution maintenance to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field required
.5-3 years related work experience in a professional environment required
Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, and time management skills
Expertise with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Understanding of the Indirect Tax Lifecycle required (Indirect Tax, Sales Tax, Use Tax)
Some familiarity with Sales Tax Exemption Certificates
Some familiarity with a Tax Engine (Vertex, OneSource, Avalara)
Some familiarity with a Data Manipulation Platform (Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik)
Some familiarity with a Service Desk solution (JIRA, Basecamp, Monday.com)
