Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced HSE professional to report to the Safety Director and drive standardization across the organization. You will partner with senior leadership to improve safety programs at industrial sites, including refineries and testing facilities.

Responsibilities include audits, KPI tracking, incident investigations, and delivering safety training. A degree in safety or related field and OSHA 30-hour training are required, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

  • Report to the Safety Director
  • Build interpersonal relationships with the Safety Director and senior leadership
  • Drive standardization of HSE practices through teams to achieve continuous improvement
  • Provide HSE support to customer locations, including refineries, chemical plants, power plants, and testing facilities
  • Work with line management to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and company requirements
  • Perform written program audits, track action items to closure, and assist local offices with necessary tasks
  • Inspect workplace environments, activities, and conditions for compliance with local, state, and OSHA requirements
  • Measure and report on KPIs and use HSE systems to improve performance
  • Assist with or investigate and document incidents and develop corrective actions
  • Develop written communications such as Safety Flashes and Safety Toolbox Talks
  • Identify safety and compliance problems and present and implement solutions
  • Prepare safety posters, meeting materials, newsletters, and related communications
  • Develop and deliver HSE training modules
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner
  • Assist with Driver Safety Dashboards, driver lists, and asset lists
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed
Requirements
  • Degree in Safety or Environmental or related field (required)
  • 1-5 years of relevant safety work experience (required)
  • General knowledge of Federal and State OSHA requirements
  • Experience in Stack Testing a plus
  • Prior Health or Industrial Hygiene experience a plus
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks with competing priorities
  • Knowledge and experience with hands-on training a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related business applications/software
  • OSHA 30-hour training a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to work in outdoor industrial settings, including climbing to and working on elevated platforms in accordance with OSHA/ANSI and other applicable safety standards
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and navigate industrial facilities
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work at a desk and/or computer for extended hours
