Job summary

DSV Solutions is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment professional to reinforce a culture of safety across the site, developing and evaluating OSHA-aligned programs and delivering safety training. You will maintain records for audits and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of related safety experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to implement safety improvements and incident prevention.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training directly related to the duties and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other federal safety standards, principles, practices and techniques.
  • Willingness to work different shifts as dictated by business needs.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engage a culture of safety throughout the campus by educating and influencing leaders
  • Support planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of safety policies, programs, and training
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State OSHA rules and regulations and department policies
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate occupational safety programs
  • Develop and conduct occupational safety training and identify training needs
  • Maintain HSE training records and notify managers of training requirements or deficiencies
  • Schedule and coordinate required employee safety training
  • Conduct and facilitate monthly safety meetings
  • Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends, and propose remedial actions
  • Investigate or arrange investigations of accidents and near-misses, prepare reports and recommendations, and implement approved actions
  • Liaise with DSV Corporate Safety and the third-party administrator on workers compensation claims
  • Manage return-to-work programs with employees, supervisors, DSV Corporate Safety, and the third-party administrator
  • Conduct on-site observations and job site safety compliance inspections
  • Monitor adherence to the company safety program by DSV Solutions employees and subcontractors
  • Advise management and employees on occupational health and safety issues
  • Maintain and order first-aid supplies
  • Implement systems to comply with applicable HSE laws and regulations
  • Communicate HSE goals, action plans, results, KPI scores, and required HSE data
  • Consult with Corporate Safety and local leadership on best-practice policies and procedures
  • Communicate changes in HSE legislation and corporate HSE processes
  • Represent DSV with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, and other regulatory agencies at the site level
  • Implement and monitor Emergency Management System procedures, including annual fire evacuation and severe weather drills
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, required programs, and training
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years related experience and/or training directly related to the duties and responsibilities
  • Prior experience in safety observations/inspections and developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other federal safety standards, principles, practices and techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, and email applications
  • Willingness to work different shifts as dictated by business needs
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. while following proper lifting procedures
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day
  • Professional accreditation in a safety or environmental field preferred
  • Experience leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
