- Administer and manage the Safety and Health Management System and related regulations for an assigned location
- Spend up to 80% of work time onsite at project and job locations
- Partner with Company team members, owner representatives, clinics, and medical/testing facilities
- Manage compliance with the Company’s Safety and Health Management System and Group incident prevention efforts
- Advise on changes and adjust work procedures to protect employees and the general public
- Perform inspections, observations, and audits to reduce incidents and protect employee health and well-being
- Conduct and monitor training, regulatory compliance, and strategic safety initiatives
- Initiate, coordinate, and conduct meetings and training programs
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations
- Assist in developing and reviewing job hazard analyses and identifying hazard control measures
- Investigate and communicate near misses, incidents, and claims
- Manage periodic checks to ensure plans, corrective actions, and deficiencies are corrected and documented
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or applicable industry with safety-related responsibilities required
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Certified Mine and Safety Professional (CMSP) certification preferred
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety and health regulations
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational, follow-through and time management skills
- Ability to work in a high-production environment and respond swiftly
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Ability to work at heights, in enclosed or confined spaces, and climb stairs and ladders in a construction/plant environment
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Travel may be required
- Alternative shifts, including nights, weekends, and other non-standard schedules, may be required depending on project and client needs
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pre-employment and random testing
