Job summary

MEC Industrial is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and audit the Site Safety Plan across projects nationwide. You will work with craft teams daily to promote safety ownership, enforce policies, and support incident investigations.

Please note relocation and travel are common as projects span coast to coast, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the safety of all personnel onsite.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word/Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a high accuracy mindset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, reviewing, and communicating the Site Safety Plan (SSSP) to staff and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with craft workers daily to promote safety program buy-in.
• Apply Stop Work Authority to enforce safety policies.
• Plan with operations using leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Provide safety training on policies and regulations including OSHA/MSHA and client requirements.
