Job summary

MEC is seeking a Safety Specialist to support and audit our safety programs on site. You will report to a Project Safety Manager and help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan across field operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with incident investigations, maintaining OSHA/MSHA compliance, and coordinating safety trainings. Occasional travel and relocation may be required as projects span the country.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and communicating the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Enforce Stop Work Responsibilities to ensure adherence to policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicator trends.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation and client requirements.
