Job summary

MEC Safety is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to help implement and audit the Site Specific Safety Plan across projects. You will report to a project Safety Manager and support contract and client safety expectations with practical, field‑level safety actions.

You will assist with hazard inspections, incident investigations and safety training, while helping maintain compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations and company policies in diverse job sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Safety certification or EMT preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
• Collaborate with field craft to promote safety program buy-in.
• Enforce Stop Work responsibilities and plan corrective actions.
• Support field operations with hazard identification and leading indicators.
• Assist with safety training and client-specific requirements.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and incident records.
• Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
