Q Center is looking for a Safety & Security Manager to join our team!
Job Summary
The Safety & Security Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and directing all aspects of Safety & Security operations. This position will develop safety and security strategies, implement security procedures, and coordinate the daily shift operations of Protective Services personnel. The Protective Services Manager will oversee and coordinate the safety and security program for guests, associates, and property.
This position is on-site, with a typical schedule from 2:15pm - 11:45pm and can include weekends, generally a 45-hour workweek.
Starting rate for this position is $60,000/year.

Education & Experience
- At least 3 years of progressive supervisory experience in a hospitality or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook required.
- American Society for Industrial Security Membership preferred.
- Certified in CPR and AED or the ability to become certified.
- Knowledge of electronic security systems, closed circuit television systems, investigations, theft and fraud prevention, proprietary information protection, emergency and disaster planning, terrorism, general management techniques, campus security techniques, hospitality industry safety techniques, and legal issues.
Physical Requirements
- Long and flexible hours sometimes required.
- Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Must be able to climb stairs, descend stairs, and run.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- On occasion, must be able to physically deter individuals who pose a threat to guests and/or associates.
Fundamental Requirements
- Attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests and associates at all times.
- Oversee and manage daily operations in Security and other departments as required. Supervise personnel, including temporary workers, by motivating, training, coaching, and counseling all associates. Communicate job expectations and appraise performance.
- Motivate, coach, and counsel department personnel according to Q Center Policy.
- Ensure training of associates on SOPs, technical tasks, and certifications.
- Interview candidates for protective services positions following hiring standards.
- Maintain radio contact with staff and other departments, responding promptly and courteously.
- Conduct department meetings to train and develop staff morale and skills. Conduct ongoing training to maintain standards.
- Maintain professional relationships and open communication with managers and staff.
- Maximize financial performance while maintaining quality and satisfaction.
- Define and implement department objectives and SOPs.
- Manage budget, forecasts, expenses, records, and contracts.
- Prepare reports such as payroll, revenue, schedules, and action plans. Maintain organized documentation.
- Develop labor schedules aligned with operational needs and communicate changes effectively.
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and safety standards.
- Operate department computer systems, generate reports, and perform basic programming.
- Respond to requests, problems, complaints, and emergencies promptly and courteously.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and manage supplies.
- Ensure overall satisfaction and safety for guests and staff.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend updates to procedures.
- Develop training materials for staff development.
- Coordinate emergency safety teams for evacuations and emergencies.
- Apply safety standards to protect staff, guests, and assets.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain safety systems.
- Develop and oversee emergency management plans.
- Handle criminal investigations with law enforcement and attend court proceedings.
- Oversee access control, CCTV, security software, and fire systems.
- Assist with project management for improvements and safety training programs.
- Manage legal matters related to safety and security incidents.
- Conduct internal investigations and review incident reports.
- Conduct client safety briefings and participate in preconvention meetings.
- Manage Indoor Air Quality Program testing and follow-up.
