Summary

The person in this position is responsible for inbound and outbound logistics, material control, and safety management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Prepare and manage shippers, BOL, packing slips, and all shipping documentation for internal and external customers.
  • Identify shipping issues and implement solutions promptly.
  • Create and maintain weekly shipping reports and customer job reports.
  • Select, develop, and oversee suppliers for outside contracting to ensure cost-effectiveness, timing, and quality.
  • Purchase raw materials and supplies.
  • Maintain stock list and update with ordered and received materials.
  • Research and find alternative sources to reduce costs and increase quality.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
  • Issue POs, track receipt of goods and services, and close POs upon completion.
  • Train and inform employees about hazardous materials to ensure compliance with the Right to Know Laws; obtain certification in first aid and CPR.
  • Represent the company during OSHA and insurance inspections.
  • Investigate and document accidents.
  • Develop and maintain a company-wide safety program, including all related forms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support company goals.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with all management levels and staff.
  • Knowledge of logistics operations, shipping procedures, and documentation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and machinery is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
