Job summary

CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa in Carefree, AZ, is seeking a Safety & Security Manager for a full-time role. Lead safety and security across the property, develop emergency procedures, and ensure compliance with fire and life safety standards.

You will train staff, coordinate with local agencies, manage security vendors, and oversee vehicle safety. Flexibility for evenings and on-call shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in safety, security, or risk management in hospitality or similar guest-facing settings.
• Experience leading and training a team.
• Working knowledge of fire/life safety systems and incident reporting.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear communication with guests and team members.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for safety and security across the property.
• Develop and lead emergency response procedures.
• Maintain fire/life safety equipment and ensure compliance.
• Train and manage safety practices for guests, team members, and assets.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, and security vendors.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance for property units (bikes, golf carts, cars, etc.).
• Support other Facilities teams when applicable.

IDEAL CANDIDATES

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management, and accountability for all safety + security across property
• Develop and lead emergency response procedures.
• Maintain Fire/Life Safety equipment and keep it compliant.
• Manage and train Safety & Security practices for guests, team members, and property.
• Manage the safety and security of team members, guests, and company assets, including assisting in investigations when needed.
• Provide safety + security partnership for all departments
• Establish + maintain strong partnerships with local law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, security professionals etc
• Consistently evaluate policies/practices to identify short term + long term goals + needed policies
• Oversee vehicle maintenance of property units (including, but not limited to bikes, golf carts, cars, trucks etc..)
• Champion key watcher devise and key control through property
• Oversee/train and manage any 3 rd party security teams or safety vendors
• Support other Facilities teams when applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in safety, security, or risk management, ideally in hospitality, resort, or a similar guest-facing environment.
• Experience leading and training a team.
• Working knowledge of fire/life safety systems, emergency response, and incident reporting.
• CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and clear communication with guests and team members.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
