Job summary

UFP Structural Packaging, LLC is seeking a Safety Coordinator to oversee safety programs and initiatives at our facility. The role involves coordinating safety activities, training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and related regulations.

The position requires a high school diploma and 0–2 years of safety or woodworking experience, with proficiency in MS Office and first aid/CPR preferred. The incumbent will lead the Safety Committee and manage safety inventories within the plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• First Aid and CPR experience preferred; OSHA and DOT regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe job practices and guards are in place.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses, identifies trends, and implements corrective measures.
• Develops safety programs and incentives with management.
• Conducts new hire safety training and ensures understanding of safety practices.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and coordinates safety initiatives.
