Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking an experienced Safety Program Coordinator for OA-FMDC to lead the safety program and drive a safety-first culture across state facilities. You will oversee safety initiatives, trainings, inspections, and AED programs while collaborating with partner agencies to reduce risks and incidents.

The role emphasizes strong communication, project management, and leadership to promote compliance and a safe workplace for MO state employees and facilities.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of health- and safety-related experience, with emphasis on trades and construction.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and occupational hazards and mitigation strategies.
• Excellent time management and planning abilities to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and programmatic compliance of the OA-FMDC Safety Program and Safety Committee and collaborate with partner agencies on their own safety programs.
• Administer OA-FMDC’s safety initiatives and training; including PPE, Safety Shoes Program and ‘Boot Truck’ events, OSHA certifications, monthly safety trainings, First Aid/AED, Forklift Safety, and inspections.
• Investiate injuries, incidents, and near misses; complete required reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain a comprehensive communication strategy to inform stakeholders of drills, trainings, evacuation maps, AED locations, and safety guidance.
• Partner with Risk Management and other programs to collect and analyze safety metrics and develop mitigation strategies.
• Organize, conduct, and document site visits, inspections, trainings, and drills.
• Oversee OA-FMDC’s AED program and its documentation and maintenance.
• Represent the Division in COOP planning and mitigation efforts and participate in policy development.
• Perform other projects and special duties as assigned.
